LA CHAPELLE
CHAMBRES D'HOTES
Our chambres d'hotes
and gite sit on the Cotentin peninsula, just north of St Lo between
the small villages of St Clair sur Elle and Pont Hebert. The house
dates from the 13th century and was known to have been a monks'
dwelling. Our main house can
sleep 14 people. 4 of the rooms are double ensuite rooms and the
family room is next door to the bathroom.
La Chapelle is
situated in 4.5 acres bordered by a small stream, and is now home to
our dogs, ducks, hens, cat and donkey, a haven for wildlife,
swallows and owls. Fields of wheat and barley surround us and the
area is peaceful and calm.
LE PETIT
HIRONDELLE STUDIO GITE
"Le petit hirondelle"
stands a little lower than the main house, near the stream. Newly
renovated, it sleeps 2 adults with their baby or child. The
kitchen/diner has a cooker, microwave, coffee-maker, fridge/freezer
and washing machine. The bathroom is situated on this level.
A spiral staircase
takes you up to a vaulted-ceilenged, beamed room with a double bed,
sofa and video. The gite is light, airy and modern with stained
floorboards and electric heating throughout.
There are swings for
children in the garden, boules and a badminton net; many places to
sit, read, enjoy a picnic with a glass of wine or use the BBQ for
dinner. The sun sets facing the patio - an excellent spot at the end
of the day for your aperitif.
