Between La Rochelle and Niort stands The
Logis de Grange, the ancestral home of the 'de Ranques' family. It
is a 17th Century historic manoir with picturesque outbuilding set
in 10 acres of lawns, canals, bridges, croquet lawn, orchard,
kitchen garden, shrubs and flowers. A small wood provides welcome
shade, reached by a small bridge.
The main house has been extensively renovated to provide luxurious
accommodation for 12+ guests. The 6 large bedrooms are tastefully
decorated, each in an individual style with en suite
bathroom/shower, to reflect the grandeur of the house. There is a
large a well equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room and study.
In addition there is a large screen video/DVD/TV with satellite.
Central heating.
There is a 6m x 12m heated swimming pool with tiled surround and
crescent shaped steps into the shallow end. There is a barbecue,
small fridge, table, chairs and sun loungers in the pool house.
It is situated 30 minutes by car from La Rochelle (and airport), 15
minutes from Niort and 60 minutes from Poitiers. The nearest shops
are 5 minutes drive.
